Filomena Tassi, the minister liable for the Federal Financial Improvement Company for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), was in Lindsay on Friday (November 25) to announce investments totalling over $2.5 million in producer TS Manufacturing Firm and not-for-profit group Pinnguaq Affiliation.

TS Manufacturing Firm, a Lindsay-based family-owned and operated producer of kit for the worldwide forest merchandise business, is receiving over $1.5 million from FedDev Ontario to increase manufacturing by buying superior manufacturing gear together with automated options similar to a first-in-the-world robotic lumber sorter.

The funding will assist Pinnguaq adapt its digital literacy coaching instruments to help companies and underrepresented job-seekers in Indigenous communities in southeastern Ontario. By the two-year mission, companies shall be supported and Indigenous job-seekers will obtain coaching to strengthen their digital skills from fundamental laptop expertise to digital advertising and marketing and communications, in addition to web site and graphic design to arrange them for employment.
